What were they thinking?

Mayor Bloomberg (Democrat) said it best:

“Why the Defense Department wanted to do a photo op right around the site of the World Trade Center catastrophe defies imagination. Poor judgment would be a nice ways to phrase….. Had I known about it I would have called them right away and asked them not to," he said. "The good news is it was nothing more than an ill considered, badly conceived, insensitive photo op - with the taxpayers' money."

Could you imagine if Bush did this – Oh that’s right Obama was infuriated this happened. He didn’t know about it. Could you imagine if Bush didn’t know about it? It would be front page for weeks – oh that’s right, Bush wouldn’t do this. His idea of the war on terror is getting information, not photo ops. The photo op mentality is from an elite crowd that says we can spend your tax dollars to scare you. We can fuel this picture, but you can’t have your SUV; you leach on the environment. While Bush’s idea of a photo op, surprising the men and women who are willing to die for my children’s freedom, on a war ship was considered poor judgment…… Welcome to fair and balanced.

Thought someone shared with me: if you would water board someone to save the life of your own child, perhaps you shouldn’t be against it to save the life of someone else’s child.

To my way of thinking (and I get some disagree): Torture is what the Islamic Militants did to Daniel Pearl – remember him? The Jewish reporter who was beheaded. It was filmed and broadcast everywhere. Torture is what Saddam Hussein did when he would put people in meat grinders feet first so he could hear their screams until the end. Torture is rape chambers where Saddam had fathers watch their daughters be raped for information. Torture is pulling off fingernails and chopping off toes. Torture is not water boarding. Water boarding was a brilliant psychological tool until the Obama administration gave the handbook to Al-Qaeda.
