Marriage Protection Amendment

Great news! Senator Mike Brubaker, R-Lancaster, is introducing the 2008 Marriage Protection Amendment as Senate Bill 1250.

The amendment language is:

No union other than a marriage between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage or the functional equivalent of marriage by the Commonwealth.

The goal is simple: protect the definition of marriage as the union between one man and one woman and prevent creation of civil unions (or other terms used to give all the legal benefits of marriage under a different name).

Your help is needed now!

1 - You can help Sen. Brubaker get other senators to sign on as co-sponsors. E-mail or call your state senator's district office and simply ask them to co-sponsor SB 1250, the Marriage Protection Amendment, being introduced by Sen. Mike Brubaker.

2 - If you live in Dauphin or York County, please email or call Senator Piccola in his office. He is co-sponsoring the Marriage Protection Amendment and is getting hammered by the anti-marriage crowd. We need to let him know how much we appreciate his stance to defend and protect marriage in PA.

3 - Please urge your friends/email lists to contact their legislator today. We know visits are most effective, but a phone call/email goes along way. Ask them to contact their Senator's office and urge them to support/co-sponsor the marriage protection amendment.

Timing is crucial. We must demonstrate that the grassroots want marriage protected.
